Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication program of AMA Computer University is a ten-trimester program designed to provide a world-class bachelor’s education in Mass Communication that is not only nationally accredited but also globally competitive and to produce graduates who will be professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development.

The curriculum is based on the standards and minimum requirement of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and is benchmarked from the curricula of leading academic institutions, national and international, offering similar program.

Program Objectives

The program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication has the following objectives:
  1. The program introduces the students to the nature, theories, concepts and practices of communication through Print, Broadcast, Electronic and the Performing Arts. Furthermore, the program equips the students with the necessary professional competencies to excel in their field of specialization.
  2. To enable students to obtain a comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of the field of Mass Communication.
  3. To enable students to acquire the theoretical and practical skills needed to be globally competitive and nationally recognized Mass Communication practitioner.
  4. To enable students to get a broad liberal education in the arts and letters, social sciences and philosophy, natural science and mathematics.
  5. To enable students to develop the cultural sensitivity, ethical responsibility, and social consciousness needed to become upright citizens of the Philippines and the world.

Career Path

The program prepares graduates as mass media professionals in advertising, print, the electronic media and public relations.
