Rationale and Nature of the Program
The Subsidized Tuition Fee (STF) Program is implemented to
provide financial assistance to academically qualified Filipino
students who otherwise would be financially unable to enroll
at an AMA Education System member institution.
The innovative nature of this student assistance program
is hinged on its three key characteristics:
- Social-Equity
The program applies a proportional tuition fee rate where
lower-income groups enjoy subsidies.
- Tuition Affordability
The program makes the cost of a premier AMA education comparable
to ordinary schools without sacrificing quality.
- Partial Scholarship
The program in spirit is a scholarship grant that partially
funds students whose academic qualifications and standings
are acceptable but fall short for full academic scholarship.
The Subsidized Tuition Fee program is a student assistance
arrangement whereby qualified students will enjoy tuition
fee reduction of fifty percent based on socio-economic status
of their respective families.
The STF Program has two basic components, to wit:
- Subsidized Education for every qualified AMA student regardless
of financial capacity, considering that tuition and other
fees paid is much less than the direct cost of education
in AMA.
- Subsidy on Total Fees. AMA grants fifty percent subsidy
covering tuition and other fees based on the capacity to
pay by and financial need of the student.
The STF Program is limited by the grant allotted by the AMA
Education System to the AMA Foundation for this program, thus
a strict selection of qualified beneficiaries shall be undertaken
to ensure its most prudent use.
